Have you ever known what it's like to know that you can succeed at something, but you don't have the confidence internally to make it a reality?
When you know deep down that you have the traits, the personality and the brains to make it almost anywhere you want to go in life - possessing all of the tools that can help you get where you've never dreamt you could be! However, there will always be those obstacles that hinder us from taking the steps forward. It could be someone who is near to you, telling you that you can't further yourself or it could be an external force - location or status. Whatever it is - you will have to determine if this is something that you yourself can overcome. When you grow older and look back on your life, will you say "How I wish I would have taken the chance - How I wish I wouldn't have made the excuses that I did" or will you say "I truly enjoyed the life that I lived, I truly took the right path."
Somehow you have to drum up inner confidence in order to take steps in the right direction. There may have been times when someone scolded you for thinking irrationally (in their eyes) or told you that you would "never" be more than anyone else. You can't let these words or people stop you from exploring your true potential. Because if you let someone else quell your thirst for success - you will be stagnant for the rest of your life. You'll never get the opportunity that is or could be right in front of your eyes!
How do you drum up this inner confidence? For everyone, it may be different.
Do you need to remind yourself that you are good at what you do and that you can leap forward into more intriguing waters? Start reminding! Set goals for yourself, make it a challenge to see where you can be a year from now, five years from now and don't ever think that the bar will be too high. There is no bar in life - the sky is the limit.
Do you need someone else to give you the reassurance that you're going to make it - that you can make it - that you will make it! If this is the case - find that person. The one that is always encouraging. The one who makes you see more than you ever could yourself. Spend time with them, ask them for opinion and most of all - thank them for supporting you and your decisions.
Don't forget to seek understanding. Understand what is hampering your desires, your needs - and then prevail! Challenge these fears, face them without inhibition, and never settle - thinking that you can't go beyond your current position. You can go anywhere and be anything - and whatever it is that you choose to be - make the most of it. So when you are older, you can look back and say, "That was one hell of a life that I lived!"
