We as humans can't always be the rock, we can't always be the pillar of strength. Everyone at some point wants to be the dependent - the one who needs to be told, the one who needs to be directed. We all need to be supported and want to know that someone supports us. What we can't handle is everyone else always being the one in need or always being the one who needs the attention, the pat on the back, the well done statement. At some point in life, these people may need to tread water alone, they may need to walk the road alone. If we continue to hinder them, they will never learn how to do these things without a hand held out for them to grab onto.
Your challenge - don't be someone's crutch. Do not allow yourself to be that pillar at all hours of the day. Make those who depend on you grow their own pillar, develop their solidity in life. What you must do is continue to focus on yourself and your foundation. How are you ensuring that you're not THAT person! Keep a focus on your driving force and your needs. And at no time, feel like someone should be there to catch you when you fall. If you fall, the only person that can truly pick you back up is yourself.
